Day 1 – BUCHAREST

Arrival at Henry Coanda Airport located only 10 km far from Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner & overnight. (D) 3*

Day 2 – BUCHAREST - CURTEA DE ARGES - SIBIU

A short Bucharest city tour is the best way to start your Romanian experience, getting acquainted with its five-century-old capital. The tour includes visits to the Metropolitan Church and to the Village and Folk Art Museum - the largest in Europe.  (2 h)

Quite before noon, departure to Sibiu, located only 170 miles northwest from Bucharest, with stop-over in  Curtea de Arges for a visit to the monastery, built between 1512-1515, one of the outstanding churches in Romania, where, according to the legend,Master Manole, the builder, entombed his wife in the stone walls. From here, travelling north, across the Olt Pass into Transylvania, you'll reach Sibiu just in time for a lavish dinner. Overnight in Sibiu. 3* (B, D)

Day 3 – SIBIU - SIBIEL

This morning, having a walking tour of the old part of Sibiu, with its narrow streets, you'll find out that this is one of Romania's most romantic cities, a great place for history and art lovers. It is home to the Bruckenthal Museum of Art and History, one of the largest in Romania and of the Village Museum ASTRA in open air. Enjoy the special atmosphere of Sibiu the cultural capital of Europe in 2007. A short drive will bring you to Sibiel village to see its large and fascinating collection of icons painted on glass and enjoy a late lunch in a peasant house. Late afternoon  return to Sibiu for overnight. 3* (B, L)

Day 4 – SIBIU – SIGHISOARA – POIANA BRASOV

After breakfast you will head to Sighisoara (1 h ¾) , a perfectly preserved town, trapped in the Middle ages. The best known site in Sighisoara is the 15th century house, where Prince Vlad The Impaler, nicknamed Dracula, was born. The house has been turned into a restaurant and museum full of interesting flavours and artefacts. Lunch en route. Late afternoon will find you on your way to Brasov (2 h). Finally, wind up the twisting roads leading to Poiana Brasov, placed high on a mountain plateau overlooking Brasov. Overnight in  Poiana Brasov.(B,L) 3*

Day 5 – POIANA BRASOV – BRASOV – BRAN CASTLE

From Poiana Brasov  you'll venture down into Brasov, one of the largest cities in Romania, a medieval trading center, situated at the meeting point of the three Romanian principalities: Wallachia, Moldavia and Transylvania. Visit the lofty Black Church, so called because  of a 1689 fire. It is famous for its imposing Gothic architecture, its 4000 pipe organ and the valuable collection of Anatolian carpets of the 17th and 18th centuries. Drive slowly to the old Schei District, to visit St. Nicolas of Schei Church, built between 1518-1598.(2 h ½).

Winding your way southwards, you will reach the fabled Bran Castle(45 min), also known as Dracula's Castle,  built at the beginning of the 13th century, by  Knight Dietrich of the Teutonic Order. Later on it was fortified, and was used by the Romanian royal family, namely by Queen Maria (a niece of Queen Victoria of England) (1 h ½). Late afternoon return to Poiana Brasov,  awaiting  you to get ready for a nice dinner with folk music in a native restaurant. Overnight in Poiana Brasov. (B, D) 3*

Day 6 – POIANA BRASOV – SINAIA - BUCHAREST

Departure to Bucharest, driving through Prahova Valley. Stop-over in Sinaia, well-known as the "Pearl of the Carpathians" and visit the spectacular Peles Castle (1 h), the summer residence of Romania's kings. A trip to Sinaia would not be complete without ½ h spent visitingSinaia Monastery, a copy of St.Catherine Monastery on Mount Sinai (17th century). Farewell dinner and overnight in Bucharest. (B, D) 3*

Day 7 - BUCHAREST

Transfer to the airport for the departure flight. (B)

Note:  Museums are closed on Mondays.

            Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays(sometimes, during summer season ~ open on Tuesdays too, but on a shorter schedule).
